11. Expanding our green space

Securing and activating space for future generations to improve conservation, flood mitigation and sport and recreation opportunities.

To do this the Strategy identifies the need to:

• Plan, protect and manage our five major green spaces:    
  1. Blue Heart
  2. Coast
  3. Mountain View
  4. Lower Mooloolah River 
  5. Regional Inter-urban Break
• Progress planning and delivery of major sport and recreation precincts within identified green spaces
• Implement the Network Blueprints and Desired Standards of Service to secure and embellish additional environmental, recreation and sporting land
• Progress planning and delivery of the Sunshine Coast Ecological Park 
• Plan for and expand the recreation trails network
• Develop and implement a dog exercise area plan and associated network blueprint.
