Healthy catchments, waterways and wetlands that support our lifestyle and livelihoods.

Delivering healthy catchments, waterways and wetlands that continue to support our lifestyle and livelihoods through integrated management, reducing the impacts of sediment, nutrients and pollutants and restoring aquatic habitats.

To do this the Strategy identifies the need to:

  • Deliver catchment management planning
  • Develop and implement an erosion and sediment control program
  • Develop and implement collaborative water quality improvement and pollution reduction projects
  • Plan and implement riparian, in-stream and wetland rehabilitation activities
  • Design and implement a waterway health monitoring program for the Mary River.
