World class Coastal Pathway continues to deliver
New Warana section adds to 73 kilometre path.
A new link in the Sunshine Coast's beautiful Coastal Pathway was completed in August 2024. This link provides people with the opportunity to explore the coast’s natural beauty.
The Warana section of the Coastal Pathway forms part of the 73km route from Bells Creek in the south to Coolum in the north. The works include a kilometre-long, 3m-wide, concrete coastal pathway accessible for all. There are also two new beach showers, three new seats, and two bike racks.
The opening of the Warana section provides users with the chance to travel from Kawana Surf Club to Bokarina and back. It is a 5km return trip with ocean views and shaded areas where users can see and hear a variety of birds.
Sunshine Coast Council partnered with the Queensland Government through the Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program.
The delivery of the Coastal Pathway aligns to the objectives of our Environment and Liveability Strategy. Implementation includes the provision of pathways and public spaces for active and passive recreation and delivering a healthy coast.
