Welcome to Namba Meeting Place
A space to meet, create, and connect in the heart of Nambour.
In 2025, a new community space opened in the heart of Nambour called Namba Meeting Place—a welcoming venue available for hire for small events, meetings, and workshops.
Located on the ground floor of the Eddie De Vere building at the corner of Currie and Bury Streets, the space accommodates up to 30 people and offers a flexible, low-cost option for community use. It supports equitable access to social infrastructure and is part of Council’s broader efforts to revitalise the town centre.
Designed to be easy to use, Namba Meeting Place includes a kitchenette, shared amenities, and presentation tools. It’s a self-service venue available for booking from 6am to 8pm, seven days a week. The venue contributes to Council’s Environment and Liveability Strategy by providing appropriately located, multipurpose, and adaptable infrastructure that is retained for community use into the future.
The name “Namba” comes from the red-flowering tea-tree (Callistemon viminalis) and honours the First Nations history of the area, reflecting the local character and cultural heritage.
