A leafy future
Greening our neighbourhoods, one tree at a time.
Council is helping to green our neighbourhoods by planting more than 3,000 street trees each year across the region.
These trees provide shade, improve air quality, support local wildlife, and make our streets more attractive and comfortable. They also help manage stormwater and reduce heat in urban areas.
This work is guided by the Sunshine Coast Street Tree Master Plan, which sets out how and where trees are planted to make sure they suit the local environment and provide long-term benefits for the community.
Council works with residents to choose the right trees for each area. Locals can also get involved by requesting a tree near their home and helping care for it through Council’s tree custodian program.
Together, we’re creating cooler, greener and more liveable streets for everyone.
