Scoot in style as e-transport trial begins

Sustainable transport comes to town.

Have you noticed groups of orange scooters and bikes around Mooloolaba and Maroochydore? These are part of an electric micro mobility fleet launched by Council with Neuron Mobility. This fleet includes nearly 500 e-scooters and e-bikes available for local hire.

The affordable, environmentally friendly transport options are being trialled in Sunshine Coast hotspots. This will help locals and tourists get from A-to-B swiftly and safely.

The appeal of safe and efficient electric scooters and bikes is gaining popularity. This public trail is an opportunity to see if micro e-transport is a good fit for you in your everyday life. Reducing the use of cars and buses for short trips is an impactful sustainable behaviour. This an effective way to avoid unnecessary emissions. If that isn’t enticing enough, you’ll also be swapping out traffic for the beautiful scenery the coast has to offer.

This initiative is one way that Council is bringing the Sustainable Living theme to life by:

  • connecting with sustainable industry partners
  • encouraging locals and visitors to reduce their environmental footprint
  • opting for active travel over fuel-based transport.
