Getting waste sorted

Empowering our community for a cleaner future.

Council is committed to fostering a sustainable future through a range of free waste education programs designed for schools, early learning centres, community groups, and residents. These programs aim to build awareness, encourage responsible waste practices, and promote long-term environmental stewardship across the region.

Waste 2 Resource School Education Program

Council’s flagship Waste 2 Resource School Education Program offers engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons for early learning centres, primary schools and secondary schools.

Each session includes fun, hands-on activities that help students understand sustainability, recycling, and waste reduction. Schools can book in-class presentations or participate in the STARS Program, which supports schools in becoming more environmentally responsible.
