Landsborough street upgrade completed

Council recently completed the planned upgrades to Landsborough’s Cribb Street. 

This is the second - and final - stage of the community-led improvement to revitalise Landsborough’s main street and beautify the town’s strong community heart. Sunshine Coast Council completed the first stage of the Cribb Street streetscape project in 2021. 

The streetscape project provides an improved central gathering space for the community to come together. Features of the new space include shelters and seating, a play space, lawn area for community events, more shade trees and creative solutions that build on the signature night-time lighting of the township. 

An outcome of extensive consultation on the Placemaking Master Plan and Cribb Street designs, and developed with the community, Council has also installed an expanded heritage trail. 

The project is part of the multi-stage Landsborough Placemaking Master Plan, endorsed by Council in January 2020 and supported by the Environment and Liveability Strategy. The project reinforces Council’s commitment to foster accessible and affordable spaces for the community’s benefit. 

This project received partial funding from the Queensland Government South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program in association with Sunshine Coast Council. Council also acknowledges the $200,000 contributed through the Infrastructure Agreement for the Caloundra South development (Aura) to support the development of community infrastructure that will provide benefit to the communities surrounding Aura.
