Council showcases $12.8 million green investment

The Environment Levy—maintaining and enhancing our natural assets and the liveability of our Sunshine Coast.

Each year, Sunshine Coast Council’s Environment Levy, contributed by all ratepayers, helps make numerous programs, projects and initiatives possible through the Environment Levy Program.

The Program continues to grow each year, with $12.8 million having been allocated in the last financial year (2020/21) to a suite of initiatives across our region.

Inspiring our community to value the environment and play their part in providing a liveable, sustainable and resilient future is a fundamental goal of council and a key priority for the Environment Levy. The Levy is also a key funding source supporting the Environment and Liveability Strategy.

Achievements of the Environment Levy are featured each year in the Environment Levy Annual Report.  Read more about the highlights and achievements of the Levy in the 2020/21 Environment Levy Annual Report.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share.
We commit to working in partnership with the Traditional Custodians and the broader First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) community to support self-determination through economic and community development.
