Beerwah Community Meeting Place open for business
New meeting space in Beerwah opens to meet current and forecast future community needs
Council recently opened the Beerwah Community Meeting Space. This facility supports the vision of council’s Environment and Liveability Strategy.
The Sunshine Coast population continues to increase. This means there is greater demand for new community facilities. Council is aware of this, and is planning and providing new facilities where they are most needed.
This facility will meet the growing needs of the local and neighbouring community. It is close to the Beerwah Library and includes four meeting rooms, an outdoor area and a shared kitchen.
The Queensland Government contributed to the construction through a $1.65 million grant. The building incorporates sustainable materials including local recycled hardwood, plantation pine linings and a 3.15kW solar system.
All materials used were locally sourced and/or recycled.
