In late June 2020, the second and final stage of the Peregian Springs multipurpose active play space opened to residents. It includes new skate elements, pathways and landscaping, to complement the existing basketball/netball court and barbecue area.

The upgraded healthy, smart and creative facility is a welcome addition to the area, helps ensure residents have access to a range of experiences to encourage active and healthy lifestyles, and supports community well-being.

The addition of the skate elements provides young people with a wide-range of benefits, including additional active play space, and allows them to engage in exercise and boost their well-being while having a great time.

The project occurred as a result of the Peregian Springs community requesting a new play area for older children to be active outdoors. Building the facilities supports council's aim of encouraging self-contained and active communities and social inclusion. Community spaces provide a focal point for community participation and activation, contributing to a sense of place and vibrancy.

The Peregian Springs Multipurpose Active Play Space is located at 222 The Avenue, Peregian Springs.
