We’re working to reduce sediment and nutrient pollution in our waterways.
Together with community and industry partners we aim to:
- reduce pollution
- improve water quality
- maintain a good to excellent waterway health rating.
To do this, we plan to:
- scope an erosion and sediment control program
- reduce waterway nutrients by restoring floodplain wetlands
- model water quality
- set targets for each of our 5 major river catchments.
Stormwater Quality Improvement Devices (SQIDs) tell a story about littering habitsUsing data collected from the SQUIDs to pilot a litter prevention program on cigarette butt prevention at Coolum.
