The Sunshine Coast is a place of natural beauty. As such, council and residents work together to protect our green spaces.
Our green spaces are under pressure from urban growth. Green spaces are important to our neighbourhoods and community identity.
They are ‘natural boundaries’ that define our community of communities. These are our inter-urban breaks.
Free from development or infrastructure, they provide habitat corridors and visual relief and places for people to recreate. We’re working to protect these green spaces.
To do this, we plan to:
- advocate for the protection of the Regional Inter-urban Break to the south
- advocate for the defined urban footprint to remain the same
- protect the existing green spaces that frame our neighbourhoods.
